businesses beware! george “stalin” schwartz wants your money- all of it- with new BPOL tax

George Read all about it HERE

Stafford, Virginia- has long enjoyed not having a Business Professional & Occupational License (BPOL) tax on its businesses.  It has dozens of others already, and this one is unnecessary, unfair, and untimely considering the crashing housing market in Stafford County.

But what happens when you get a Democrat majority elected to a board of supervisors? You get a new tax proposed in the very first meeting!

Schwartz, who’s never run a real business in his entire life (he was a talent manager for celebrities back in the 1890’s I think- again working off someone ELSE’S hard work and talent), wants all the money you have in the till.  But he’s not happy with taxing and spending what you’ve “made” or even what’s “left over” after you pay your expenses… he wants it right off the top!  Your gross receipts.  Forget that you sell expensive things like a car for example that may only have a 2% profit margin, you pay off the gross sales price with BPOL.

May God help someone that sells roofing materials, daycare service, food, or provides dental care- they all get taxed the same too, because your Government won’t help you in Stafford County!

When did it become the government’s “RIGHT” or “PRIVILEGE” to take your money because you have some?  How ass-backwards is our government going to get before the voters and residents WAKE UP!?

This is a such a clear an typical Democrat mindset… we’ve bled the homeowners dry now, and still we want MORE money for government services that we could easily live without until the economy bounces back, but no- George “Stalin” Schwartz would rather stab a bleeding business and suck the blood dry before they have a chance to feed their family or heaven forbid- make a living.

It must be really nice to blow into town from New Jersey and within months of living in brand new Falls Run (a Del Webb community of $300k retirement villages filled of rich northerners off Route 17 who enjoy their gated community and indoor Olympic-sized swimming pool, and 28,000sf clubhouse), and nitpick and complain about the construction of your house so loudly and obnoxiously that you can successfully put all the blame on your supervisor’s neck somehow, that it actually gets you elected! WOW! Talk about a spin campaign!

But now that he’s in office just 2 years, he devilishly recruits two new numskulls (Crisp and Woodson) to slip in and co-sign on his original intentions- to take MORE for himself (he voted to double his salary), more for his cronies’ private programs, and LESS from working families and business owners!

What an arrogant ass to presume he has any claim to a business’ money because “other counties do it”!  Maybe he should look at DELAWARE that has NO SALES TAX, or WASHINGTON STATE where they have almost NO tax burden on their residents, and they both manage just fine! Businesses come from all around the US to register their business in Delaware in fact, because the charge NO TAX.

What is the ROLE OF GOVERNMENT in business?  What is the role of a supervisor?

Maybe he could look at COST CUTTING MEASURES BEFORE RAISING TAXES?

Dan Smolen and Chris Guy must be beside themselves with love for this mental patient with Alzheimers gone mad on the BOS.  They actually call the BPOL a “fair and equittable tax”.  Typical liberals- they wouldn’t grasp a US Constitutional role of government if their favorite giant statue in Red Square fell on both of them!

Stafford outofbusinessBPOL will be one of the last nails in the Stafford’s economy’s coffin that shuts the door on the incoming businesses and buries any progress that has been made in the past decade.

The business leasing rates are already equal to Fairfax and Arlington for commercial space.  The houses are only slightly less expensive (equalized by commuting costs).  The tax ‘rates’ are higher up north, but they are equalized by lower assessments than actual market value.  Thus, it is only slightly more expensive to live up north, and this BPOL tax will be a major factor in persuading a business NOT to invest in the local economy here where the region has just 250,000 people as compared to Prince William and Fairfax which have a combined 2,000,000 for the same price.

Where would you put an ice-cream stand if all costs are the same?  Where the people are and the schools are MUCH better with no commute, or 50 miles south with 80% fewer customers and worse traffic congestion?
