As written about on Bearing Drift, Gilmore won a straw poll in a strategically “Gilmore-packed” room.  No surprise there. 

The irony is that he only won by 57% to Marshall’s 40%.  This was intended to be a blowout for Gilmore so his camp could crow about it to the news and claim a pre-convention landslide victory with conservatives.

This isn’t the first time the Gilmore camp has made ridiculous claims and boasts of support that just wasn’t that solid. They should probably stop doing that as an operating procedure

… ooops.
